The authority over someone or something, capacity to govern or rule large crowds, having the strength and enthusiasm to do something.

Power could have so many meanings, and it depends on the situation is presented. For example, as a security officer in the airport my job is to protect, observed, and report, power is the key to be an excellent security officer. Having power is having the energy, strength, and authority over any circumstance. Power is what my job requires for a great performance at work.

Power of Energy

Energy is the key to a fully alert and focused security officer. Airports are high-traffic areas inside and outside the terminal. The magnitude of passengers visiting the airport each day. Rush hours are constant. It takes the power to have full control of large crowds and the energy to overcome a commonly hectic day. Always getting mentally prepared and starting my day with a positive aspect.

Power of Strength

Strength and courage are the power that is needed to overcome any situation. Many incidents happen in the airport and a kick response is essential. A sick passenger will need your help and what they expect from you is the strength and courage to acknowledge the current situation and act right away no question, no pause, just act. Had happened to one of my coworkers. The nerves betrayed her. She panics and on chock, she stopped and forgot her duties and first response. The role of the first responder is very important.

Power of Authority

The authority is the power of handling and command. As a security officer, my job is to have the command to stop someone from breaking the rules. Specified rules need to be followed at the airport such as employee and passenger. Passengers planning for a trip should be guided and oriented by airlines on what are prohibited items. If the cause security officer authority is to remove passengers from screening or flying. As employees have the same rules and need to be fully authorized to work at the airport by presenting an updated ID.

To safely protect

The word power could be used to harm or to help people. My power as a security officer is to protect, observe and report. These are used to secure and safely protect our society from the unexpected. My power is having the energy, strength, and authority to prevent harmful situations. Proud of my role of being a security officer because it allows me to protect my community.
